Monk Shoes

Lately I've noticed that Topshop has been selling a type of shoes called Monk shoes. I'm not sure if they've got the same name everywhere, but these Monk shoes from Topshop (apart from having an awesome name) are really cute, semi-formal flat shoes that generally have a buckle on the front and no laces. They're interestingly shaped and structured, and I think that they add a level of uniqueness to any outfit.

I, personally, am completely in love with two specific pairs - the Matie Two Tone Monk Shoe for £34 and the Kava Brogue Monk Shoes for £55 - so I've made a few sets of some different kinds of outfits I would pair them with. And hopefully soon, I'll be able to post some reviews on them! Cross your fingers for me.

Since the Kava Brogue Monk Shoes are entirely black, in my opinion they look best with dresses or skirts, or in general an outfit that is slightly more formal. To make them a little more casual, pair it with some boyfriend jeans and a button down.

For the Matie Two Tone Monk Shoes, they look best paired with jeans in a more casual outfit or a bright, summery outfit. Add in some gold accessories to accent the gold buckle, and you're good to go.

Since last years big winter shoe trend was cut out boots, I feel like these kind of shoes will be fashionable this winter. What do you guys think of Monk shoes? Let me know in the comments below!

Clothing Review: Zara Skort in White

So the other day I was in the Zara shop browsing and entertaining myself, when I noticed that my store had the white skort in my size. I've been eyeing it for a while, and eventually I will probably get it in a bunch of colors off of eBay, so I decided to try it on. And let me tell you, it is absolutely amazing.

I was a little apprehensive at first because I didn't think it would be as flattering on me, but I was wrong (and happily so!). I definitely don't have a thigh gap, but it was just as cute on me in my opinion. It's a great length in the front, and while it may be a little short in the back it's not really an issue because it looks like a pair of shorts from behind. And while a lot of times white can be very see through, the Zara skort is made with a nice material and its a good thickness so you won't be flashing everybody when you wear it. That being said, it's still white, so you really shouldn't wear hot pink underwear with it. On top of that, it's incredibly comfortable and soft. So if you've been considering buying this, I absolutely one hundred percent recommend this! If I wasn't so poor I would be buying it in so many different colors.

So do you love this skort as much as I do? Let me know what you think in the comments!

Mail Goodies!

I got some packages in the mail the other day, and like every other person in the world it made me incredibly happy, so I've decided to make a post and show you all what came in! It's really not terribly exciting, but the fact that it came through the mail makes it exciting to me.

The first of the two packages was this Burberry Body perfume. It was a lot bigger than I thought it would be, especially considering the price I got it for, and it came in a super cute packaging. I'll be doing a review of sorts on this scent soon, so keep your eyes peeled for it!

And the other package contained even more nail polish. Amazon has become my latest addiction, and they have the best deals on OPI and books, so I've gotten a LOT of those in the mail. In particular I wanted a few colors from their autumn San Francisco collection (hometown pride and they're all gorgeous colors!), and then I picked up some colors I had seen in a store and really liked. From left to right they are "First Date At The Golden Gate", "Bastille My Heart", "Incognito In Sausalito", and "Can't Find My Czechbook".

Not a whole lot, but some fun little goodies none the less. Once my other two perfumes come in the mail I might do a perfume collection post. Let me know what you think in the comments!

Lipstick Collection

Over the last few days, I've bought quite a bit of lipstick. In the past I'd never really been much of a lipstick person, but lately I feel I am becoming one. For some reason, I absolutely can not wear lip gloss, or basically anything shimmery on my lips, so I've taken a shining to matte (I guess) lipstick. I'm very picky with the color and quality of lipstick that I buy, because I feel like a lot for not go well with my coloring and my lips are almost always dry, and some lipsticks make them look terribly chapped when they aren't.

But anyways, I thought I'd show you my collection of lipsticks!

I have ten in total, and all from various stores. The four on the left are part of the latest Kate Moss for Rimmel London collection and they are absolutely amazing! The quality is great, and I love these colors - if you can get your hands on a few then I definitely recommend getting them. The next two are from a random store that I found in Amsterdam, and they're very nice and very cheap. The Gold by Giles ones are from New Look, and the last two are from Mac and Makeup Forever, in that order. The Makeup Forever one was a free sample I got a while ago from Sephora.

If you can get your hands on any of these lipsticks, I absolutely recommend them all.

Bloglovin and Tumblr

I've been meaning to get around to this for a while, but I finally got some "fall cleaning" done for my blog, and I've created a bloglovin and tumblr to go along with this blog! If you sign up for bloglovin and follow this blog, you'll get updates whenever I post something new on here. If you follow me on tumblr, I'll probably update you all myself when I post new things, and you'll also get to see my polyvore creations and other things that I see and reblog - basically, randomness.

So yeah. I'm trying to make this more organized and easier for everyone on here. Let me know what you think!

Amsterdam Haul!

As some of you may know, I went to Amsterdam for a few days last week! It was absolutely beautiful, and I bought a few things while I was there. But while I'm sharing this with you all, I thought I'd include some pictures I took while there.

One of the many gorgeous canals! We went on a night canal cruise and rented a canal bike for an hour, an they were both so fun! If you can only go on one though I would recommend the canal cruise.

The view from our hotel room.

A cheese shop!

We wandered into the flower market the first day we were there and there were drying flowers hanging everywhere! It was so beautiful.

And now, on to the purchases I made.

We popped into a random little beauty store and I picked up a few things. It was so cheap and still nice, so I couldn't resist. I bought this cool mermaid-y gold nail polish, a coral makeup bag, and two lipsticks.

I finally went to a Monki store! I've ordered a few things online before, but never a t shirt and I've never been to a store! I know it's kind of dorky but I was excited. I am definitely going to be getting some more things from them in the future - most of their things are pretty cheap, and right now their selection is so cute! I grabbed this top because it reminds me of the Topshop Contrast Rib Neck Top from Boutique. (P.S. Please ignore the fact that it is upside down, apparently I am technologically challenged cause I can not for the life of me figure out how to fix it)

And last but not least, I picked up this little souvenir windmill. Because its absolutely adorable and I like picking up little nick nacks like this when I travel places.

Amsterdam was so fun, and I would love to go back and see more of Holland soon! You all should definitely try and get there at some point.

Love,

Caro

New Look Shoes

There are a few stores that I absolutely love and check up on fairly regularly because I have a problem. Lately, the stock at New Look has been pretty dang awesome. A week or two ago I bought an adorable maroon bobble hat that looks just like one that Topshop had in stock last year, and it was only £5!

Because I've ordered things online from them before, I get emails from them, and I got an email the other day with a mystery discount and I get a student discount on top of that, so I'm doing a little shopping! Their sale right now is awesome, but I am especially in love with the current stock of shoes. Here are my favorites for under £30.

These are my personal favorites for under £30, but there are tons of other cute shoes. I'm definitely gonna buy a few pairs, so I figured I'd give you guys an idea of how I would style them.

These maroon brogues would look absolutely amazing with a jumper and some jeans, nothing too exciting in color scheme.

For these boots, I would pair them with some black skinny jeans, a clutch, and a cool geometric print oversize shirt.

These heeled cut out boot are a little more formal, so I would pair then with a cute black dress, an interesting bag, and a cute hairstyle.

These boots are a little similar to the previous ones, but the heel height is a good deal lower so they would be good for a little more casual look. I would pair them with a skater skirt, a plain top, and a cute jacket or sweater.

For this last outfit, I love the contrast between the leather look Chelsea boots and this white skirt from zara. Add in a cute black and white casual blouse, and a satchel and you're good to go!

Let me know if you guys get any shoes from New Look! Take advantage of these great deals.

Caro

Makeup Review: Kate Moss for Rimmel London

I went into Superdrug the other day, and the new line of Kate Moss lipstick caught my eye. I swiped a few colors on my hand, and instantly fell in love with pretty much all of them. For someone who is normally incredibly picky with lipstick, this was a miracle (it wasn't until later that I found out its the new matte collection and suddenly it made sense why I loved it so much). So of course I splurged a little and bought four of the five from the collection - the last color didn't look that great on me.

From left to right, the shades are 111, 107, 101, and 110. 111 is a gorgeous bright coral red, 107 is more of a berry red, 101 is a nice natural pink, and 110 is a beautiful coral pink. What I love about these shades is that none I them are too bright, which is perfect for someone like me who wants to expand out from just plain natural pink but who isn't ready for something too crazy just yet. And of course because they are part of the matte collection they don't have any shimmer in it, which I love because I hate shimmery things on my lips. The quality of it is smooth, and for the price it's definitely worth it. Be warned though, they will rub off and transfer very easily to clothing or hands. All in all though, a great purchase.

And as an added bonus, the cases are incredibly cute.

Caro

OPI Nail Polish Collection

I'm a bit of a nail polish fanatic - I paint my nails all the time (honestly its very strange if my toes don't have some sort of color on then hear round) and I love picking up new unique colors. One of my favorite brands is OPI, because of their multitude of colors and fun names. OPI is constantly producing new colors and limited edition collections, so I can always  find something new from them.

In total, I have 21 various shades of OPI, and I love pretty much every single one of them (there is one exception, which I will elaborate on later).

The first first five nail polishes in this row are very dark, so they don't pick up well on camera. The far left is called "To the Glitter End!" and is a glittery black polish that is a part of the permanent Sephora by OPI collection. The next is called "Siberian Nights" and its a gorgeous deep purple. After that is "Here Today... Aragon Tomorrow" which is a dark green, and two more from the Sephora collection, "Go My Own Way" and "Absinthe Makes the Heart" which are a shimmery blue and olive green respectively.

Next in line is "What Wizardry is This?", a dark sparkly gold liquid sand polish from the OPI Oz the Great and Powerful collection. It's limited edition and still available, so I recommend buying it because it is gorgeous and will not be here for long. Next is "No Spain No Gain", followed by "Cha-Ching Cherry", "I Have a Herring Problem", "Tiffany Case" (another James Bond liquid sand one) and "Mad as a Hatter", a sold out polish from the Alice in Wonderland collection a few years back (and probably my favorite of the bunch).

Continuing with the names, we have "Do You Lilac It?", "Traffic-Stopper Copper", "Second Honeymoon", "I Theodora You", "Gargantuan Green Grape-Matte", and "Stranger Tides". The only OPI that I regret buying is the "I Theodora You" because it is literally the exact same color as "Second Honeymoon".

Finally, we have "Stranger Tides" (accidentally put it in two photos, sorry!), "Neutral Beauty", "Only Gold for Me", "Cartwheels on the Catwalk", and last but not least "My Boyfriend Scales Walls".

I recommend any and all of these OPI nail polishes, and even all the ones I don't have. The colors and names are fun, and the quality is good, though to be honest most drugstore nail polishes are almost the same quality, but the OPI polishes have a wider brush that doesn't lose hairs the longer you have it.

Happy nail painting!

Caro

Style Steal: Topshop Physics Boots Update!

So a little while ago I posted some similars to these gorgeous, sold out topshop boots (the original post can be found here), and I just found another pair! They're from New Look, and the my look almost identical but they are so much cheaper!

I actually own the Topshop boots, and I've seen the New Look ones in person so I can honestly tell you that they are incredibly similar. The quality of the New Look ones seems a little bit less than the Topshop pair, but since they're about a sixth of the cost, you get what you pay for. The New Look boots are a little more geometric while the Topshop ones are smooth, and the heel of the New Look ones have tiny stripes on them. Overall though, they are extremely similar. So if you're more concerned with the quality and having the boots look exactly the same, I would recommend the Tony Bianco pair from the previous post, but if you want the height of the heel, definitely buy these.

Hope you enjoy!

Love,

Caro
