Mom Jeans

A little while ago, Topshop started selling a new style of jeans called Mom jeans. I know, the name sounds off putting. Why would you want to wear a pair of jeans named after a notoriously un-stylish look?

These jeans are actually really cute. They're high waisted, and very very nineties in their look. I personally love them - they look adorable and super comfy. Hopefully I will be able to pick up a pair for myself, so I thought I'd show you a few different ways I'd style them.

This first look is a casual one, for warmer weather. The light cardigan looks cute and comfy paired with this crop top and these canvas sneakers. I would wear this look anywhere - to class, to get some groceries, etc.

This look is also very casual, but for cold weather, maybe around fall or autumn, but you could always throw a jacket over it for winter. I would absolutely wear this outfit to class - it's cute, and casual.

This look is very summery, with the strappy crop top and the gold sandals. Personally I think this look is a little bit nicer, maybe something to wear out to a nice lunch.

And finally, this last look is for winter. With the long sleeve crop top and the big boots and warm jacket, it's good for walking around in the winter.

Basically, these jeans look amazing paired with a crop top, or a tucked in shirt to emphasize your waist.

Would you ever wear a pair of Mom jeans? Let me know in the comments!

The Trend: Sunflower Print

Recently, I've been noticing this trend of loud, colorful, allover sunflower print on a lot of different pieces of clothing, and I kind of love it. It's bright, and fun, and youthful, and in my mind it is the epitome of summer. There are so many different ways to wear this trend, so here are some options that I found that are on the more affordable side.

High-waisted shorts are probably one of the most flattering things I have encountered in the world of fashion, and what better way to incorporate some sunflowers into your wardrobe than incredibly flattering shorts? These shorts are from American Apparel, and would look so cute with a simple, solid crop top in brown, some sandals, and a giant floppy hat if you're feeling daring.

These overalls are from pacsun, and they are such a cute combination of the sunflower print and overall trend, which is everywhere this summer. I actually own two pairs of overalls already - a short, light wash denim pair, and a long, mid wash denim pair. They are so comfy, and perfect for when you want to look cute and unique without a lot of effort. This patterned pair would look great with a white crocheted top underneath, and paired with some sandals or ballet flats.

If you're like me and bright yellow isn't really your color, this tea dress from River Island is a great alternative. It still has the allover sunflowers, but they are toned down a little and paired with a bright red, another great color for summer. Tea dresses are awesome because they are so comfortable, like a t shirt, but they have a little more shape and class than just a t shirt dress.

This minkpink dress is probably my favorite item on here. As a blonde, I generally do not look good in yellow, or sadly bright red. However, this dress is right up my alley, with a loose, flowing feel to it, a gorgeous blue or turquoise background, and patchwork style mesh of the sunflower print (not to mention its name, "Ashbury"). This dress would look amazing with a pair of ridiculously strappy gladiator sandals, in pretty much any color you want.

This crop top is from American Apparel, and as far as sunflower print items go it is probably the most versatile. I could see this going from summer to fall, possibly pairing it with some high-waisted denim shorts or a skater skirt in the summer, and a pair of high-waisted jeans in a dark wash  and a loose grey cardigan for fall.

Personally, I think this trend is pretty awesome. However, I am aware that it is a very summery print, and most of these pieces are meant to be worn only in the summer. I definitely would not be rocking those sunflower shorts with sandals in the middle of winter in Scotland, no sirree. That being said, none of these prices break the bank, and so picking up one (or maybe even two) items in a sunflower print would not be a waste of money. Or, for those of us who live with their parents and don't have a job (me, sadly) jewelry in various sunflower designs is always an option. ;)

My Love Affair with Ebay

For years I never bought anything on Ebay - I had gotten this idea in my head that it was super intense bidding on totally random objects from sketchy sellers, and so I was scared to give them my credit card information. A few months ago though, I took a chance, and ordered a really cute pair of shorts, and I have been in love ever since. So here is a list of five reasons why I love Ebay.

1. Ebay is a great place to find clothes or shoes that are no longer in stores. This is my number one reason simply because I am the type of person that will see a picture of someone from months ago wearing an adorable shirt, or a pretty dress, and I decide that I absolutely must have it.

2. Most of the time, the prices on Ebay are incredibly cheap. Of course, occasionally people list items as more expensive than when they were in stores, hoping to make a profit because you can no longer buy them anywhere else. And that, leads into reason number 3....

3. If you can't find what you want, or you've found it and the seller is asking way more than you want to pay, don't worry! Because Ebay is entirely individual sellers, the items for sale are constantly changing. If you don't find what you're looking for one day, you could very well find exactly what you want a week later. So don't give up hope!

4. When you finally find an item that you're looking for, after searching for a while and almost giving up, its incredibly gratifying. I think the biggest tip for finding specific items that I've learned is that most people do not the store's name for a product, and if its listed under the store's name then more people find it and it gets increasingly expensive.

5. The nice thing about bidding on items instead of just buying them, is there leaves some room for error when it comes to buyers remorse. You know, when you buy something and a few hours later start to question it, and maybe regret it? When you're betting on something, there is still the chance that someone else will come and bid higher. Besides, most of the time the prices are so inexpensive, that its okay if you don't wear it every single day, because you only paid a dollar for it, or something along those lines.
