Clothing Review: Zara Skort in White

So the other day I was in the Zara shop browsing and entertaining myself, when I noticed that my store had the white skort in my size. I've been eyeing it for a while, and eventually I will probably get it in a bunch of colors off of eBay, so I decided to try it on. And let me tell you, it is absolutely amazing.

I was a little apprehensive at first because I didn't think it would be as flattering on me, but I was wrong (and happily so!). I definitely don't have a thigh gap, but it was just as cute on me in my opinion. It's a great length in the front, and while it may be a little short in the back it's not really an issue because it looks like a pair of shorts from behind. And while a lot of times white can be very see through, the Zara skort is made with a nice material and its a good thickness so you won't be flashing everybody when you wear it. That being said, it's still white, so you really shouldn't wear hot pink underwear with it. On top of that, it's incredibly comfortable and soft. So if you've been considering buying this, I absolutely one hundred percent recommend this! If I wasn't so poor I would be buying it in so many different colors.

So do you love this skort as much as I do? Let me know what you think in the comments!

Love,

Caro

Makeup Review: Kate Moss for Rimmel London

I went into Superdrug the other day, and the new line of Kate Moss lipstick caught my eye. I swiped a few colors on my hand, and instantly fell in love with pretty much all of them. For someone who is normally incredibly picky with lipstick, this was a miracle (it wasn't until later that I found out its the new matte collection and suddenly it made sense why I loved it so much). So of course I splurged a little and bought four of the five from the collection - the last color didn't look that great on me.

From left to right, the shades are 111, 107, 101, and 110. 111 is a gorgeous bright coral red, 107 is more of a berry red, 101 is a nice natural pink, and 110 is a beautiful coral pink. What I love about these shades is that none I them are too bright, which is perfect for someone like me who wants to expand out from just plain natural pink but who isn't ready for something too crazy just yet. And of course because they are part of the matte collection they don't have any shimmer in it, which I love because I hate shimmery things on my lips. The quality of it is smooth, and for the price it's definitely worth it. Be warned though, they will rub off and transfer very easily to clothing or hands. All in all though, a great purchase.

And as an added bonus, the cases are incredibly cute.

Caro

Clothing Review: Asos Petite Exclusive Baseball Dress with Contrast Metallic Sleeves

Wow that's a long title...

Anyways, I just got this Asos dress in the mail (I was ordering a pair of boots and it was an impulse buy, whoops) and I am so in love with this dress I just had to make a review for it right away!

I don't think I'll be able to format this into a proper review, because I'm wearing the dress as I write this and oh my lord I don't think I've ever had a dress that's this soft! Honestly, I feel like I'm wearing pajamas, that is how comfy and soft it is. Looking at the pictures online, I was a little wary because a lot of times with cheaper dresses the material on sleeves like these are super scratchy and itchy, but these are not. The sleeves are a little thinner, but the rest of the dress is a nice thickness, were it'll be good for winter with some tights and a coat (and your bra won't show through).

It fits super well, and it's incredibly flattering too! Generally I shy away from things that are more fitted throughout, like bodycon dresses, but this dress is fitted and loose in all the right places. It's a great length on me too, given that its from the petite section and I'm only 5 feet tall.

Basically, I love this dress. It's probably my favorite thing that I've purchased recently (well, apart from Putt Putt Saves the Zoo).

Let me know what you guys think! Do you shop regularly at Asos? I haven't before, but I might have to start now, especially from their petite section.

Caro

Makeup Review: Topshop Matte Nails in "Easy Peasy"

A little while ago Topshop came out with a range of matte nail polishes, and I finally picked up a couple shades the other day. I decided to try out "Easy Peasy" first, a nice light shade of gray. It goes on really well, and it has a nice matte finish to it (as one would expect). I've bought other nail polishes from Topshop before, and the quality of this is one is just as nice. I definitely recommend them, whether you want a normal shade or the matte ones (they're one pound more expensive, but that's not too bad).

Makeup Review: Gold by Giles Lipstick in "Jazz" and "Crush"

A while ago I picked up these two lipsticks from New Look for a couple of pounds each. I think it was about 9 months ago so I don't remember how much it was, and its not available on the website, but they could still be in stores.

I absolutely love these! The colors are great - Crush is a nice, natural looking color that's a little less pink than my MAC Creme Cup lipstick but still great for day, and Jazz is a great, bright pink. I'm not very exciting in my lipstick color, in fact I only recently just started wearing lipstick (I was always a lip balm kind of person) so for this price and this quality, I definitely recommend branching out of your comfort zone.

Overall, I definitely recommend these if you can get your hands on them. They're not very expensive, and they're a great quality.

Caro

Makeup Review: M.A.C. Cremesheen Lipstick in "Creme Cup"

My friend highly recommended this lipstick to me a little while ago, so I decided to check it out at the M.A.C. store in my mall. I went in, and immediately asked to see it, and fell in love. It's a gorgeous natural, light pink color - its basically the same as my natural lip color, so its great for every day looks.

It is a little bit more expensive than drugstore lipsticks, but its only $15 so its still less expensive than NARS or other makeup brands from Sephora. It is the same quality though, in my opinion, and absolutely worth the money. From the color to the quality, I am sure I will be getting a lot of use out of this lipstick.

If you can get to a M.A.C. store I recommend picking this up! Of course you have to try the color on your hand first to make sure it works with your skin tone, but its a great quality lipstick.

Love,

Caro

Makeup Review: L'Oreal Telescopic Shocking Extensions Mascara

I'd heard some great reviews about this mascara from quite a few people, so I figured I'd try it out myself. After all, you can always use a good mascara.

This mascara is really good for long, thin lashes, but unfortunately not for thick and voluminous ones. It curls nicely with an eyelash curler, and even a little bit on it's own. It's a great mascara for every day, but for nights out or more exciting looks I like to have eyelashes that are a bit fuller.

Another thing that I noticed is that this mascara is a great dupe for the Benefit They're Real! Mascara - they both do long, thin lashes like no other.

Overall, I really like this mascara. I definitely won't be throwing out my others and replacing them with this one, but I will absolutely be keeping it and using it on a regular basis.

Caro

Makeup Review: Topshop Blush in "Flush"

Before I left Scotland, I picked up this blush from Topshop. I tried literally all of the different shades on my hand, and landed on the shade "Flush". There were many different colors, but I thought that "Flush" looked the best for an every day look with my skin tone. I am absolutely in love with this blush! I have really dry skin, and powdery makeup just accentuates this fact, so I love the fact that this blush doesn't make my skin look flaky.Plus, the case it comes in is seriously cute. Its very creamy and pigmented, so to apply it I just use my finger and rub it into my cheek. Because its so pigmented, you don't have to use very much at a time, so I know this is going to last me a while. I will absolutely be repurchasing this when I run out - and in several different shades.

Now to perfect the rosy cheek look!

Love,

Caro
